Following rumors spiraling thanks to Windows Central’s Jez Cordon on his Xbox Two podcast, fans fell into the belief that TT Games and NetherRealm were on the chopping block as devs set to be sold off.
This rumor was associated to documents supposedly seen by Cordon and lacked direction as to who would be interested in acquiring the two established developers.
As with many rumors, however, we can safely say it’s been squashed as WB Games senior VP of global communications, Remi Sklar, debunked the rumor in a statement to TheGamer.
“I can confirm NetherRealm Studios and TT Games will continue to remain a part of Warner Bros. Games, and all are included in the Warner Media Discovery merger.”
NetherRealm Studios is most notable for their work on the Mortal Kombat and Injustice franchises. TT Games, meanwhile, has been exclusively creating LEGO games since 2007.
