It wasn’t that long ago when the vast world of Legos and video games combined to create some distinguished and surprisingly well-off third-party games. One of its most notable included the Star Wars franchise. Well, it looks like we’ll have to wait just a wee bit longer for LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga.
The next in line of the Lego games puts you in the blocky shoes of a retelling of all nine of the mainline Star Wars films. The upside is that we did get a nifty new trailer showcasing a few clips of gameplay pieced together during Gamescom Opening Night Live. It really seems to come far from the usual fare we’re used to seeing with Lego games.
LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga was initially slated to launch later this year, but it slowly started to seem unlikely. From modifications to the official website to a few murmurs here and there, all the telltales were there. This gameplay trailer, however, confirmed the rumor, citing its new release as sometime in spring 2021 for both current and next-gen consoles as well as PC and Nintendo Switch.
