2K Games‘ free-to-play Battleborn is officially dead. Last year, 2K announced the game’s servers will go offline making it entirely unplayable. This was disappointing to its fans, but far from that big of a shock considering its competition in the market in 2016 when it initially launched.
Please note that the Battleborn servers have been deactivated and the game is no longer playable. We’re extremely proud of the work that went into the game and want to extend our deep appreciation to the community. To learn more, please refer to this FAQ. https://t.co/vARxt3qaLs

The title was made combining aspects of a MOBA and FPS. While the game had the potential to outshine others in its field, especially with its shiny non-existent price tag, it never caught on. The game performed below 2K’s expectations and only a year after launching, it was not getting updates, only keeping its servers online.
As of today, though, it’s gone – the servers are shut down and its lackluster fans will have to move onto another game to fill that void. Even its offline story mode is unplayable without access to its servers.
It’s not likely we’ll see a surprise reboot of Battleborn, but hey, at least they tried, right?
